PODCAST
This week we were tasked with making a podcast about living and working in the digital world. I have never made a podcast before, probably because I would rather just type out what I am thinking rather than have my voice posted for everyone to hear. I understand that some users find the ability to hear someone easier when it comes to trying too understand the information, however I still prefer to type my text rather than record my voice. Podcasts/screen-casts however are a great way to contribute to your digital literacy, as they give you a new way to learn about information and an ability to connect to the author of the work. When you are able to hear and/or see someone that is telling you information, you can get a better understanding of what they are trying to say because you can actually connect with the person instead of just reading plain text. Experiencing different ways to learn on the web can contribute greatly to your digital literacy, however actually creating podcasts and contributing your own work online helps to shape you into a better digital citizen. Even though I most likely will not create many more podcasts in the future, I am glad I at least created one so I can add to my digital literacy.
